15th Annual Meeting of the AK Südasien – Call for Papers
The 15th Annual Meeting of the Arbeitskreis Südasien (South Asia Working Group) within the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Geographie (DGfG) will take place from January 30–31, 2026, at the University of Göttingen.
This annual gathering provides a platform for geographers and scholars from related disciplines to engage in dialogue on current research, fieldwork, and theoretical or methodological innovations concerning South Asia. The meeting aims to foster both intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary exchange, reflecting the complexity and diversity of developments across the region.
We welcome paper contributions from the full spectrum of Physical and Human Geography, as well as from allied disciplines. Scholars, practitioners, and educators working on South Asia are especially encouraged to participate. We particularly invite early-career researchers to present work that has, for example, emerged from Master’s theses.
The Arbeitskreis also awards a Best Thesis Prize for Bachelor’s and Master’s students from German-speaking universities. Please see our separate call for submissions.
Language:
The official language of the meeting is English, but presentations in German are also welcome.
Abstract Submission:
Please submit abstracts of no more than 300 words by September 30, 2025, via email to Christoph Dittrich (christoph.dittrich@geo.uni-goettingen.de).
Fees:
