Postdoctoral research fellow “Foresighting resilient adaptation and land use change”

 

The PostDoc position (initially fixed 2 years term) is available in the research group “Climate resilience of human-made ecosystems” in Germany (Prof. Dr. Katharina Waha). The successful candidate will conduct independent research on climate resilience in agriculture and managed land systems, working with climate models and national agricultural surveys.

The position is part of the FORESIGHT project which is in the two-year seed-funding phase with the aim to conduct and publish initial research, design a larger research program and develop a grant proposal for a multi-year multi-partner research project. The candidate will be integrated in the Centre of Climate Resilience – there is no teaching required.

The Centre for Climate Resilience at the University of Augsburg was founded at the end of 2020. The research centre is dedicated to research and science communication in the field of climate resilience with an interdisciplinary approach. The aim is to develop scientific foundations and holistic and implementable strategies at regional, national and international level that demonstrate adaptations to the unavoidable consequences of climate change.
