University assistant predoctoral (all genders welcome) (in German: Universitätsassistent:in)
Level of employment: 100 % (40 hours/week)
Minimum salary: € 50,103.20 gross per year; classification according to collective agreement: B 1

Task and Responsibilities:
• Independent scientific work with the aim of writing a doctoral thesis;
• Independent organisation of courses in the field of economic geography and methods;
• Examination activities and supervision of students;
• Collaboration in research and teaching projects of the department of Geography and Regional Research;
• Participation in organisational and administrative tasks, quality assurance measures and public relations measures
Prerequisites for the appointment:
• A very good Master’s or Diploma degree in geography or related disciplines from a domestic or foreign higher education institution;
• Proven methodological skills;
• Proven interest in economic geography issues;
• Very good knowledge of English;
• Ability to work in a team
Additional desired qualifications:
• Research interest in industrial dynamics, especially in relation to digitalization or sustainability transitions;
• Basic experience in university teaching;
• Basic experiences in research operations;
• German language skills
